CANCELLED: The Four Noble Truths, with His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche
*We regret to inform that His Eminence will not be able to visit Kurukulla Center at this time as he has prior obligations in India. We sincerely hope Rinpoche will be able to visit again in the future!*
We are extremely pleased and honored that His Eminence Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche will be giving a teaching at Kurukulla Center, on "The Four Noble Truths."
The four noble truths are the first teaching given by the Buddha, and are the basis of all Buddhist traditions: the truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the cessation of suffering. More simply put, suffering exists; it has a cause; it has an end; and it has a cause to bring about its end.
His Eminence is known as an emanation of Manjushri and is a highly revered teacher in the Gelug tradition. A Rinpoche is a rare and precious jewel in the Tibetan Buddhist world, and for many of us, this will be a rare opportunity to receive teachings and blessings from an incarnate lama of such realization, wisdom, and spiritual accomplishment. We sincerely hope you will be able to join us for this event.

The first Kundeling Tatsak Choktrul Trichen Baso Choekyi Gyaltsen was born in 1402. He was the brother of Khedrup Rinpoche (one of Lama Tsongkhapa's two main disciples) and was himself considered to be one of Je Tsongkhapa's best students. He was enthroned in 1463 as the Ganden Tripa, the highest seat in Gelugpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. During the era of the great master Je Tsongkhapa, His Eminence received all of Tsongkhapa's teachings, in order to take responsibility for preserving and spreading the precious teachings of the Buddha.
The many accomplishments of the succeeding incarnations include having served as abbott of the great Chamdo Monastery and tutor to both the 11th and 13th Dalai Lamas. The previous incarnations of Kundeling Rinpoche also twice acted as regent for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This remarkable succession of incarnations has demonstrated an unflagging commitment and dedication to the conservation and flourishing of the Buddhadharma.
The 13th incarnation in this great lineage, His Eminence received a geshe degree from Drepung Monastic University in Mundgod, Karnataka, South India and studied tantric rituals at Gyudme Monastery, in Hunsur, South India. He has received many teachings and initiations from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and many other highly revered masters.
All are welcome to attend!
