Today is the first day of the Tibetan New Year or Losar, represented as the Year of the Wood Snake, 2152. For members of the Tibetan community, it is a joyous time to gather with friends and relatives at Kurukulla Center. Offerings are brought for the altar and prayers are recited. At 8:30 AM there will be a traditional offering ceremony where tea and sweet rice will be served to everyone. We are all invited to join! The center will be open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM for those unable to attend the morning event but would like to be part of this special day.
For the FPMT family, Losar is a special time, as it commemorates the anniversary of FPMT founder Lama Yeshe's parinirvana at dawn of Losar in 1984.
